how not to build a website from an artist's point of view

I suspect that building this website will be time well spent, but as I type this, I'd much rather be painting. So, I'd rather to use this blog page, to chronicle my projects, and how they're progressing. I"m not sure if this will work out, as I envision it, not much does when there is technology involved. They say it's intuitive. It is not. Fish are more intuitive than websites.
